May 17 ~ "Spring Cleaning with Feng Shui" at the Downtown Women's Club “Talking Shop” Event

Julie Anna Alvarez led an evening workshop for members of the DWC offering a refresher on Feng Shui basics (especially on how it applies to the workplace) and some great how-to advice on clutter-clearing (physically and energetically) to create a motivating space that supports one’s success. The interactive exercises really got the group to “spring” into action and begin implementing ways to refresh their living and working environments for the season. May 2 ~ Julie Anna and other members of The New York Chapter of the International Feng Shui Guild attended a reception in honor of Anne Mansfield, Executive Director of the IFSG. Having the opportunity to meet Anne and interact with fellow professionals from the region was a special treat.

May 1 ~ Sprucing Up Your Space for Spring, an article by Julie Anna Alvarez, was a timely treat for readers of Dermascope magazine's May 2005 issue. The brilliant photo of gerbera daisies that jumpstarts the article is just a hint of the energy uplifting strategies suggested for salon and spa professionals (and salon clients can benefit too by implementing some of the tips at home). March 9 ~ Practical Feng Shui for Your Spa

And The Winner Is. . . As an attendee of my presentation on "Practical Feng Shui for Your Spa" at the International Congress of Esthetics on February 20, Joi Mairet, President of Remède Spa & Wellness Center in Duncanville, TX was announced as the lucky winner of the Space Clearing Package raffle drawing in the March issue of the Happy Chi Solutions E-Bulletin. In addition, there were 5 Runner-Up prizes going to the following winners: Kerry J. February 28 ~ Happy Chi Client Success Story on TV

Happy Chi Client Success Story on TV: Margaret Judge was featured on the “Reunited” episode of “The Party Planner with David Tutera” (the Discovery Channel) and the party décor was an Asian theme extravaganza very much in keeping with her and David Tutera’s enthusiasm for Feng Shui. The show is periodically repeated so you might catch it again!

February 20 & 21 ~ The International Congress of Esthetics hosted its Professional Beauty Industry Conference at the Intercontinental Hotel in Dallas, Texas.

Sponsored by Les Nouvelles Esthetiques and Dermascope, the worldwide leaders in esthetics magazines and events, this year's Congress included Julie Anna Alvarez speaking during the General Session to an audience of over 300 people on Sunday, February 20. Her topic was how Feng Shui can be used by those in the beauty industry to promote good health and a de-stressing environment for their clientele and improve the prosperity of their establishments. This two- day event was filled with lectures, demos, workshops, a great exhibition hall and an enjoyable welcome reception on the first evening. Getting to meet hosts William & Patricia Strunk of Dermascope, their editor, Jennifer McDaniel, and Laura Bazo of Les Nouvelles Esthetiques, were among the highlights of the event.
